Even without a worldwide recession, many of us feel a pinch in our wallets in January. Not only do we spend more then usual in December, but most of us make less! It's bad enough that business seems to come to a standstill during December, but it never seems to truly wake up until March. Most of us do not need a lesson in economics to figure out that small producers usually have to charge more for their wines because it costs more to make them. In a booming economy, many of us are more then willing to pay a little bit extra to get the quality that comes from handcrafted wines. But if you've been reading our Latest News, then you know that as our wallet becomes thinner, we all begin cutting out luxuries. Overall, wines sales are down, but more so in the premium wines then the less expensive brands.
This month we searched all of Napa Valley to find you wines from small producers that will please your palette and your wallet. Most of these wines are Napa Valley Fruit. All of them are handcrafted. Don't be fooled by the prices. Just because something costs less doesn't mean quality is sacrificed and visa versa. Many times the owner produces these wines because they know what they can afford at the store and wanted to provide true quality in that price range. Sometimes is because a winery is fairly new and uses price to find its way to the marketplace. Either way, it's a treat for us recession weary Americans. Enjoy!
